Transitional Kitchen Remodel

This remodel was for a Scottsdale family that wanted a transitional style kitchen with a mix of modern and traditional elements to be used for cooking and entertaining. They also wanted an open feeling to the space. The old kitchen had limited storage options, inferior workflow and functionality, lacked seating, an atrocity to look at plus the soffit and columns enclosed it in. They hated it!

Our design called for raising the ceilings, leaving the HVAC exposed and installing painted traditional wooden beams to create coziness plus fill in the vast ceiling space. The walls, soffit and columns were removed as well. The appliances, plumbing and electrical fixtures were relocated and updated to create a functional workflow and an island incorporated for additional seating and storage.

To bring in the traditional, we installed European Oak hardwood flooring in grey and brown tones and Shaker style cabinets but updated them in a winter brown color at the perimeter and a navy blue for the island. The cabinet hardware is a champagne bronze color with modern design bar pulls instead of knobs for all cabinets and drawers. To compliment the color of the cabinet hardware, the island pendants are a bronze wire fixture in addition to the bronze brackets holding up the wine rack display.

The countertops are a marble look quartz and the appliances are stainless steel. The backsplash on the stove wall is a contemporary linen-like tile installed in a herringbone design and the coffee bar area is also a linen-like tile but in an abstract design. A walnut shelf was brought in to add warmth and rustic elements to the area along with a barn door to hide the hallway to the bedrooms. The color scheme, tile, flooring, fixtures and cabinets brought together the look of this Transitional kitchen. The clients were very thrilled.

Caine & Company just finished a complete, to the studs, knock out the ceiling, kitchen renovation in our late 70’s ranch, and we could not be happier! The crew was always on time, kept us informed and was extremely professional. Renovations can be extremely overwhelming, but Justin led us through the whole process and somehow managed to make it fun. He works with you to get an idea of your dream kitchen, while offering some great design ideas of his own. Our end result is absolutely spectacular! I would recommend Caine & Company to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind renovation. You will not be disappointed!
